What Obama "inherited" and from whom

(click on the title of this post to go to CBO website then click on the link on the left that says "Historical Budget Data(.xls)")

President Obama has consistently repeated this notion that he “inherited” a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit. (According to the CBO’s website, it was 1.5 trillion)

While that is true as far as it existing when he was sworn in as President, it is a willful deception to act like he and the Democrats had nothing to do with it.

The Democrats have now controlled Congress for THREE YEARS. The budget that ended up being in deficit by 1.5 trillion dollars was written and passed by a Democrat controlled Congress(with the help of the then Senator Obama).

According to the CBO’s website, the following were the numbers regarding the last few budgets:

Fiscal Year____ Deficit______ Passed In/By____________ Signed By
2004 ________$568 billion __2003 Republican Congress ___Bush
2005 ________$493 billion __2004 Republican Congress ___Bush
2006 ________$434 billion __2005 Republican Congress ___Bush
2007 ________$342 billion __2006 Republican Congress ___Bush
2008 ________$641 billion __2007 Democrat Congress ____Bush
2009 ________$1.5 trillion __2008 Democrat Congress ____Bush
2010 ________$1.2 trillion* __2009 Democrat Congress ___Obama

*-projected

In other words, the Democrat controlled Congresses have now passed 3 straight budgets that have resulted in a total deficit of $3.34 trillion.

So the reality is that Obama “inherited” this economic mess from……his own party …….AND HIMSELF.

The vote heard 'round the world

In Massachusetts, a revolution has once again begun.

A Senate seat held by a Democrat for 6 DECADES has been won by a Republican who was all but unknown 3 months ago.

The importance of this election can not be overstated in any way.

If "Ted kennedy's seat" can be won, there is NO Democrat seat in the House or Senate that can not be won.

Not only will they not have 60 votes in the Senate, they may very well no longer be able to get over 50 votes in the Senate or over 218 in the House. If Democrats know what is good for them, they will go back to the drawing board on this issue and try to reach the bi-partisian bill that they promised to pass.

Signs are that that will not be the case. Already liberal mouth pieces like Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and Keith Ubergirl are showing that they have misread the message of this result. A message that COULD NOT BE MORE CLEAR.

STOP!!!!!!!!

THAT is what the people of Massachusetts have screamed with their vote.

STOP!!!!!!!!

THAT is what the American people are screaming.

It looks like these cries will fall on deaf ears; deaf ears that belong to Congressmen and Senators who will be enjoying their last year in office.

Congratulations to the new junior Senator from the great state of Massachusetts, Scott Brown.

Ted Kennedy was seated after his win in a special election some 46 years ago the day after his election.

Scott Brown should be sworn in tomorrow. Anything else is insult to the voters of Massachusetts and the American people.

Mr. Mollohan....are you shaking yet?
