How was that a "Town Hall" debate?

The promotion of this debate tonight as a "Town Hall" debate was a complete sham.

Town Hall debates don't come with pre-screened questions selected by a moderator.

They are made of real people asking what is on their minds at the time.

This type of pseudo-town-hall-meeting is completely useless. If this is how they are going to continue to do these debates, then we would be better off just sticking with the traditional debate format.

There were no new questions asked.

There were no new answers given.

No questions on Ayers, Rezko, Rev. Wright.....

How many such questions were ignored by Tom Brokaw?

The purpose of this event was to give as little chance as possible that the event would change any one's opinion of the candidates.

That is exactly the opposite of what a debate should be about.

BTW, how can it be possible that John McCain has missed TWO opportunities in TWO debates to call Obama a hypocrite/liar?

In each debate, Obama discussed genocide as a reason for intervening militarily. He was against going into Iraq. GENOCIDE was one of the reasons contained in the war resolution passed by both houses of Congress that authorized military action in Iraq.

Which is it Sen. Obama?

And how can the McCain campaign keep letting their candidate miss these opportunities?
