An Opportunity for the Mainstream Media to Redeem Itself

In 2006 the mainstream media, with willful intent made Rep. Mark Foley the face of the Republican Party. A person who, as it turned out, only sent inappropriate emails to a person who had already turned 18. Whatever we may think of his behavior, it did not involve any actual acts and was between two consenting adults.

Many Republicans in Congress at the time owe their election loses to this "scandal".

Now, the very Congressman who replaced Mark Foley who rad a campaign to create "a world that is safer, more moral". A Congressman whose billboards proclaimed "Faith and Family---Where I Stand". Yes, that very Congressman was in fact having an extra-marital affair with one of his staff WHILE uttering these phrases. He has paid her $121,000 to keep silent along with a $50,000 a year job. (Much like John Edwards).

IF the MSM wishes to, they can restore just a tiny bit of respect if they make Tim Mahoney the face of the Democratic Party this year.

I guarantee, they will not. In two more days tops, no one will ever mention his name again(if they even do during those two days).

If you are a Democrat.....it's different.

Congressman Gerry Studs(D-MA) actually HAD a homosexual relationship with a 17-year-old Congressional page......he was censured by the House and then was re-elected 6 MORE TIMES.

Congressman Mark Foley TALKED about having a homosexual affair with an 18-year-old Congressional page.....he was prosecuted in the press and resigned from office.

Tell me again that there is no liberal bias in the press.

Tell me again there is no double standard.
